Courtney started showing dogs since she was 4 years old. She spent about 15 years in the 4-H dog project growing up. Over the years, she won multiple awards including New England's On-Leash Obedience Champion, Reserve Grand Champion, and Grand Champion. Plus many years of winning Vermont 4-H's top overall show awards. She mainly showed Yorkshire Terriers but also showed Smooth Fox Terriers. She helped show and raise many Yorkshire Terriers with her late friend, under the Sugar Maple prefix.
In her adult years, she obtained her associate's degree in veterinary technology and maintained her Certified Veterinary Technician license for many years. She continued her education many years later and holds her BSN (Bachelor's prepared Registered Nurse). She currently works as a medical oncology RN. At shows, Courtney is willing to help show friends' dogs. She has shown Standard Poodles, Borzois, Ibizan Hounds, and a variety of other breeds.
Courtney's son, Benjamin (8), is also active in the dog show world. He shows in junior's conformation and is learning about other sports. He can be seen showing a variety of breeds, although he mostly shows Indigo and Sushi.
